Heliski started in Chile in 1987, when a small group of friends gathered together and decided to explore the majestic and beloved Andes mountain range. Little by little we discovered a wonderful treasure, which through the years, and with the incorporation of new friends and mountain lovers, who were in activity for 11 years, we decided to found Andes Heliski, the first heliski/heliboarding company in Chile.
The homologation of the vast territory, that we use exclusively, and the professionalism and preparation of each one of us makes of Andes Heliski a reference point for anyone wanting to live an unforgettable experience. Due to our continental weather, and the high peaks, snowfalls tend to be of dry and cold content. As an added bonus, the spring conditions are unbelievable! Our vast terrain is well suited for strong intermediate and expert skiers.

"Arctic Heli Skiing is operated by Bergmenn Mountain Guides on the Troll Peninsula in Northern Iceland. After operating ski touring and ski mountaineering trips on the Troll Peninsula for the past 10 years we have now extended our program to Heli Skiing. The potential for world class down hill skiing is mind blowing with thousands of slopes and peaks waiting for their first descent with vertical descents of up to 1500m or almost 5000ft. Our vast terrain covers more than 4000 square kilometers, or 1500 square miles of breathtaking Arctic mountains with terrain that suits every skiers ability be it extreme couloirs or wide open glaciers. Our position just below the Arctic Circle with the mountains rising straight out of the sea allows for a skiing experience of a lifetime, skiing all the way down to the ocean basking in the rays of the Midnight Sun. This can give the concept of night skiing a whole new meaning."

"The west coast of Greenland offers the most stunning and unparalleled heliskiing in the world. Descents of 2000 meters to the water's edge, coupled with the profound cultural experience, make Greenland Heliskiing second to none. Lodging in modern houses rented from the local population, we are in close contact with the locals in the beautiful little village of Kangaamiut."
Editors Note: In the winter of 2003 I spent a week with this outfit and the owner Hans Solmssen - and it was the single best week of skiing (heli or otherwise) I have ever had. Hans runs a first class operation. It's also difficult to see where on earth one might get better terrain and a more exotic location.

With experienced international mountain guides, a Squirrel B3 helicopter, and a private helicopter base at our hotel - Gulmarg Heliski is proud to offer heliski and snowboard clients exclusive access to the PIR PANJAL RANGE - the very best Himalayan powder that Kashmir has to offer."
"With access to 22 peaks all over 4,000m you can choose from a huge range of north facing powder bowls, and the peaks of Sunrise and Sunset at 4,376m and 4,349m. The highest peak in the Pir Panjal Range is Punch Peak at 5,570m. "The skiing resort of Krasnaya Polyana is 60 km. away from Sochi, Russia, 550 m. above the sea level, in the south - west of the Main Caucasian Range. We invite all HELI-SKI fans to open the HELI-SKI season in Krasnaya Polyana."
"On behalf of the entire team we are happy to inform you that Himalayan Heli Adventures is beginning to offer heli-skiing in the Indian Himalayas."
Looks like an outfit that brings down a bird and pilot from Air Zermatt in Switzerland. Not much information on their website, though I would imagine it is done in conjunction with Swiss UIAGM guides - organized primarily for the benefit of their European clients.

"Himalayan Heli Ski Guides was founded in 2001. It is the first and only Company allowed to Heli Ski in the Kingdom of Nepal. Each year Himalayan Heli Ski Guides (HHSG) will open a new area in Nepal's Himalaya for Heli Skiing. In agreement with the Nepalese Ministry of Tourism, this will be done in a way, which pays respect to the native people, the environment and the wildlife."
"To date we have skied in the Annapurna, Everest and Dhauligiri region, mostly in the Annapurna region, with the main reason being the fact that it has a 70 kilometer long north facing mountain chain which means it holds the snow well and for a longer period of time thus making it very dependable, its also further west which is the direction most of Nepal's winter storms come from, which also means the area typically gets more storms and bigger storms then the eastern side of Nepal for example."
"The Ghandaki lodge is a comfortable lodge called Homde sitting at 3,200 meters in the Manang valley. Homde has the only airport in the region, it is normally open from mid March to December, with snow conditions predicting the operating status. All the rooms are comfortable and supplied with sleeping bags made for Everest expeditions thus insuring you a warm and comfortable sleep. All meals are prepared by our staff and are continental and local dishes. The area boasts spectacular views of the Annapurna's, Pisang Chula peaks etc. This region is known as the most spectacular part of the Annapurna trek."

"Powder South Heli-Ski Guides is today South Americas's premier helicopter skiing operation, located in the heart of the Central Andes of Chile. After 5 seasons of successful operation, we proudly continue to offer excellence in heli-skiing deep in the enchanting and rugged Andes Mountain Range of southern South America."
"Powder South offers Heli-Packages in the Chilean Central Andes, primarily between latitude 32 degrees and 35 degrees south. We are based outside of Santiago, Chile where we have access to thousands of hectares of unlimited terrain, literally about 500,000 hectares/ or 1 million Acres! With all 4 areas we use from the Lodge. Our terrain offers the most beautiful faces, steep couloirs, exciting ridges, big bowls and even volcanoes"
"Open fire at the lodge after skiing, temperatures are mild at the lodge... terrain is intense up high At the lodge you will be able to enjoy all the amenities expected from a mountain lodge, an outdoor hot tub and swimming pool, gourmet cuisine, and infinite Chilean hospitality. Treat yourself to a massage after skiing, or read a book in front of the fireplace while served delicious appetizers prepared daily by our Chef."
"We have the privilege of high altitude dry snow, synonymous with champagne powder at its best. Snow accumulation comes from the Pacific Ocean, a mere 100 miles (160 km) west of the Andes. Flying conditions are best during winter, due to an almost zero thermal reduction, a daily weather phenomena in summer, caused by heat and cumulus build-up in early afternoon."

"Kamchatka, this long forbidden, mystical peninsula in the far east of Siberia is the goal of this voyage. Situated between the Okhotsk Sea in the west and the Strait of Bering in the east, this vast area was a restricted military zone and therefore a blank spot on the map. Today you can access Kamchatka, with 370 000 square kilometers nearly as big as France, and find a mainly untouched nature environment."
Kamchatka's landscape is ruled by an extensive number of more or less active volcanoes. About 10% of all the volcanoes on the dry land of our planet are to be found here. With it's 4750 meters, Klychevskaya is the highest of all of Kamchatka's and Siberia's summits.
From most of the volcanoes one can see the ocean. A more than 2500 kilometer long spectacular coast line forms wild fiords and cliffs. This unique nature reserve is home to the biggest Codiac and Grizzly bears on earth. These are particularly happy, when thousands of fat salmon fill the pristine rivers on their annual migration.
Our lift, a sturdy MI 8 helicopter with room for 20 passengers, is exclusively reserved for us. Our pilots showed their capability during perfect drop-offs in strong winds and sensitive decisions if the conditions got too rough. There are no restrictions in the choice of landing zones other than weather and snow conditions.

"Where the Caucasus Mountains meet the Black Sea, they still show imposing summits higher than 3000 meters. Tucked into this wild Alpine environment we find the legendary ski area of Krasnaya Poliana."
"Half an hour taxi-ride off the coastal town called Sochi beams you right into a spectacular alpine valley crowned by proud summits glowing in the afternoon sun. The coastal resort town of Sochi and the neighboring mountain valley of Krasnaya Poliana has been a famous tourist destinations in the days of the Soviet Union. Today there are a number of hotels, chalets and restaurants, which are built to meet modern western standards."
