Dream Catcher Heliskiing is based in Bella Coola, British Columbia which is located north of Vancouver, BC and Whistler, BC, sites of the 2010 Winter Olympics/Paralympics. The Coast Mountains are Canada's most westerly mountain chain rising up from the Pacific Ocean, broken throughout its span from Yukon to the USA by wide and awe inspiring inlets. While our ski area is in the middle of Canada's deepest, most exciting wilderness landscape, our operations is one of the most accessible helicopter skiing or snowboarding destinations in Western Canada, with a daily 1.25 hour flight from Vancouver, BC.
Upon your arrival in the Bella Coola Valley by air, your road travel is minimal. Your Dream Catcher home-based is a short 15 minute drive from the airport to the hotel or wharf.
Dream Catcher Heliskiing utilizes a Bell 407 helicopter which holds five guests, one guide and one pilot. The hotel-based tours will have a maximum of three groups to one helicopter, and the boat-based tours have a maximum of two groups per helicopter (private group bookings may differ).
This small group atmosphere allows us to quickly adapt the program for weather and group abilities. If you've ever skied with a large group (8 or more) you will know that a small group covers terrain more efficiently (less waiting for guests and the helicopter). Your small group will allow the guide more time for personalized coaching on the ground and more exploration of new ski runs throughout your ski holiday.
