"Located at Thomson Pass, 30 miles outside of Valdez, Alaska Backcountry Adventures (ABA) was one of the first heli sikiing perators in the Valdex area. "At ABA we focus our energies on getting you the best runs available for the lowest possible cost which is why our low frills base area attracts locals and enthusiasts from around the world year after year".
"Alaska Backcountry Adventures has always prided itself on being the spot to go to get the most from your money, providing you with the opportunity to conform your helicopter vacation to your personal budget."
"Motorhome packages are based on a 139.00 per day rate and this number will be split between all the people in the motorhome. There is additionally a 250 damage deposit required. These Motorhomes are 30 feet long, easy to drive and have four beds, two of which are suitable for two people. Four people fills a motorhome nicely and also fills a helicopter, but any size group will enjoy the freedom of your own private motorhome."

"Located at Thompson Pass with their own lodge, restaurant and tavern. "The only time you leave the lodge is by helicopter. You spend your time in the air and on the slopes, not on a 75 to 80-mile commute between a heli-pad and your hotel in Valdez."
"At the end of the day, you'll relax in a custom-built lodge with eight new, large rooms. Every room has 270 sq. ft. of private, warm space, including your own private bathroom. Your room overlooks the heli base and offers a majestic view of Mount Billy Mitchell - the matron mountain of the Alaska Rendezvous Lodge and Heli-Ski Guides."

"Started in the '90s by legendary skier Doug Coombs, Valdez heliski Guides have been the pioneers in this part of the world. "In 1993, VHSG, under the leadership of Doug Coombs, pioneered the area and developed cutting-edge techniques to safely negotiate this steep terrain. Since then, VHSG has standardized these proven methods, allowing us to guide you safely in the world's most adventurous winter sports playground."
"VHSG operates out of the historic Tsaina Lodge heli pad on Thompson Pass, 35 miles from Valdez, Alaska. VHSG was founded at the Tsaina Lodge because weather conditions are more reliable than anywhere else in the Chugach Mountains. Often we can fly in weather windows unavailable to those located further from Thompson Pass. In fact, some of our best terrain is less than a 2 minute flight from the Tsaina with the option of skiing directly back to the helipad--something no other heli-ski operator in the Valdez area can offer."
